The water depth and temperature data were collected in NW Atlantic (limit-40 W) from ships OLEANDER and YANKEE CLIPPER between January 11, 1992 and December 20, 1992 as part of Ship Of Opportunity Programme (SOOP). Twenty seven SOOP XBT sections containing originator's bathythermograph (XBT) data were submitted by Mr. Glenn Strout, National Marine Fisheries Service, Narraganset, RI. The data have been converted and are now available on line in C116 (XBT) file format of NODC.
