The study aimed to characterize the antibiotic resistance genes, virulence genes and plasmids in bacterial organisms isolated from municipal wastewater and to compare the findings with the molecular data previously obtained from healthcare wastewater. The study hopes to reveal the genetic relationship between healthcare-associated and community-associated infections mediated by wastewater microbiomes.
