Share of DALYs relative to mental disorders 2017 India by classification

In 2017, the highest share of total DALYs among adults in India relative to depressive disorders was 33.8 percent. By contrast, the share of DALYs for mental disorders such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder was 0.3 percent. DALYs or disability adjusted life years is a metric used to quantify the overall disease burden which is the number of years that are lost as a result of ill-health, disability, or premature death.
