This data product was developed through digitized processing based on the volume of the National Soil Fertility and Fertilizer Efficiency Monitoring Network in the *Farmland Ecosystem Volume* of the *China Ecosystem Fixed Observation and Research Dataset Series*, with metadata improved and linked to entity data. This data product includes monitoring data on soil physical and chemical properties conducted by the National Soil Fertility and Fertilizer Efficiency Monitoring Network, such as soil nutrient content, total mineral elements, trace elements and heavy metals, soil mechanical composition, available nutrients and other related indicators. The data covers the period from 1990 to 2000. Soil physical and chemical characteristics are important indicators for understanding farmland ecosystem productivity, and grasping their variation rules is of great significance for farmland production management.
