VPRS 10004 Inwards Correspondence of the Prothonotary

The Prothonotary of the Supreme Court oversees the administrative aspects of actions and appeals coming before the Court and is responsible for the filing of documents and for the custody of the Supreme Court records.This series consists of the correspondence sent to the Prothonotary on a number of matters related to these responsibilities. About one quarter of the correspondence has a carbon copy of the Prothonotarys response attached. Correspondence was related to the divorce And matrimonial causes jurisdiction with inquiries about the process of suing for a divorce, requests for copies of documents and inquiries from respondents in undefended actions. Other correspondence is to do with the transfer of documents, with providing statistical information and obtaining publications. Some correspondence is to do with the appointment of Commissioners for the taking of Affidavits and from other Prothonotaries providing or seeking information.
