Genomic insights into adaptive traits of phyllosphere yeasts

Here, we established a taxonomically diverse yeast culture collection from flag leaves of field-grown wheat, representing major genera based on two consecutive years of ITS amplicon sequencing. De novo sequencing 96 high-quality genomes, representing 14 yeast genera, and comparative genomics revealed specific signatures associated with life in the phyllosphere.
