In 2023, approximately 411,000 passenger journeys per day on average were completed on the Hong Kong Light Rail, representing an increase of almost 14 percent from the previous year. Daily riderships on the Hong Kong Light Rail dropped sharply between 2020 and 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown measures.
