Gene expression data from human primary cultured Schwann cells

Schwann cells undergo reprogramming after nerve injury, switching to immature repair phenotype. The goal was to test what genetic perturbations are triggered in Schwann cells with the stimulus from melanoma cell secreted factors. We used microarrays to detail the changes in gene expression of Schwann cells treated with human melanoma conditioned medium. Primary human Schwann cells were cultured in triplicates to 90% confluence and treated for 48 hours with 20% (v/v) of either control medium (control) or melanoma conditioned medium (cell lines: 1. 526-mel, 2. 397-mel and 3. 624-mel cell). Schwann cells were washed and collected, total RNA extracted, convereted to cDNA library and analyzed with Affymetrix Human genome U133A 2.0 Array. Please note that the 'Internal control' sample was only used for data processing (i.e. no processed data).
