Towards the new world: the ideology of science in contemporary tv series. The core of any story is constituted by a character who conflicts with someone or something to satisfy a desire. The core of any ideology is likewise oppositional, and it’s this stretch of antagonism which distinguishes what’s ideological from what it’s not. Therefore each narrative world presents ideologies in the fight; in particular in contemporary narratives, science is often the object of an ideological representation: this paper analyzes three television series in which the ideology of science clashes with its fierce opponents.
