Firstly, the hit rate and false alarm rate were calculated. The hit rate is the probability of reacting to a signal stimulus, while the false alarm rate is the probability of reacting to a noise stimulus.When the hit rate is 1, the probability (P) is calculated as 1-1/2N, where N is the number of target stimuli. When the false alarm rate is 0, P is calculated as 1/2N, where N is the number of noise stimuli. After converting hit and false alarm rates to Z-scores, d' could be calculated (d' = Z<sub>hit</sub> - Z<sub>false alarm</sub>).
