Neuroinflammation Biomarkers in Depression and Mental Disorders: Global Data 2020-2024

This dataset compiles global statistics and research data on neuroinflammation biomarkers (IL-6, TNF-alpha, CRP) in patients with depression and major depressive disorder (MDD). Drawn from meta-analyses covering up to 58,256 participants (2020-2024), it includes biomarker levels, AUC diagnostic values, symptom correlations, treatment outcomes, and country-level prevalence estimates. IL-6 shows an AUC of 0.724 and TNF-alpha an AUC of 0.861 in distinguishing MDD from controls. Depression prevalence among studied cohorts reached 65% in nursing students. Data supports the neuroinflammatory hypothesis of depression and psychoneuroimmunology research.
