资源简介:
N-acyl amino acids are promising surfactants with several industrial applications.Using neutron scattering we studied the biocompatibility of these compounds, with particular focus in their interaction with lipid bilayers. We identified a direct correlation between their adsorption profile at air/water interfaces and their biocompatibility. We now wish to extend this study to a relevant member of the N-acyl AA family: N-acyl Glycinate. They are commonly used with a co-surfactant because of their biocompatibility, but our studies show that, when used alone, their interaction profile with lipids to be rather unfavorable. We propose to study here the adsorption of C10-Gly at air/water interface alone and in combination with SDS, a common co-surfactant. This will have repercussions in identifying ideal surfactant mixtures for applications where favorable interactions with lipids is required
