Burden of Disease (BoD) - LGAs and regions 2001 - Years of Life Lost (YLL)

The Burden of Disease study uses methods developed originally for the Global\r\nBurden of Disease study refined and adapted to the Victorian context. It\r\nprovides a comprehensive assessment of the amount of ill health in Victoria,\r\nAustralia, measured in Years of Life Lost (YLL) arising from most diseases and\r\ninjuries.\r\n\r\nYears of Life Lost are the mortality component of the DALY determined for each\r\ncause of death by the remaining life expectancy at the age of death.\r\n\r\nThe Burden of Disease 'data' are modelled estimates,  using methods developed\r\noriginally for the Global Burden of Disease study but refined and adapted to\r\nthe Victorian context\r\n\r\n
