Transcriptome analysis of Haloferax volcanii deletion strain s479 vs wildtype H66

Little is known about small RNA – target mRNA pairs in Haloferax volcanii. We want to elucidate transcripts differentially expressed upon deletion of sRNA479 to elucidate function of this sRNA in the context of H. volcaniii metabolism. Overall design: We isolated total RNA from Haloferax volcanii ?s479 and the wildtype strain H66 at early exponential growth and subjected it to rRNA depletion and then next generation RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) (each in triplicate).
