资源简介:
This dataset was acquired with a pressure-temperature logging system deployed in the original CORK installed in July 1997 in Hole 395A in North Pond on the western flank of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge during ODP Leg 174B (Becker et al., 2001). The system included Paroscientific model 8B7000-110 borehole and seafloor pressure gauges and a ten-thermistor sensor cable extending down to nearly 600 m below seafloor. Data were accessed during dives of the manned research submersibles Nautile in 1998 and Alvin in 2001, and when the system was recovered during IODP Expedition 336 in 2011. The data file is in tab-delimited Text File (ASCII) format recorded every hour. Each line includes date/time, borehole pressure, seafloor pressure, temperatures in °C of 8 valid downhole thermistor readings and bottom-water temperature from a matching thermistor in the data logger. Temperatures were obtained from raw binary data by applying a logger count to resistance calibration and individual thermistor resistance to temperature calibrations. Support for acquisition of the sensor string and 1998/2001 submersible dives was provided by NSF award OCE-9530426 (K. Becker, PI) Instrumented borehole seals for 1996 ODP drilling on the Juan de Fuca Ridge (modified after one year to include the 395A CORK). Long-term pressure and temperature data from Hole U395A are presented by Becker et al. (2022).
