From July 17th - July 31st, 2023 (Seward, Alaska to Honolulu, Hawaii), NOAA Ocean Exploration conducted the Gulf of Alaska Mapping expedition (KM2309), an opportunistic mapping expedition to the Cobb-Eickelberg seamount chain in the Gulf of Alaska. Operations during this 15-day expedition included the high-resolution mapping of 82,506 sq. km of seafloor (24,505 sq. km in the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone).
