Nurturing Young Children's Creative Thinking Ability: Interactions and Strategies through the Foundation Stage within the selected Australian Primary School

Creativity is vital to well-being, achievements, and quality education. Despite extensive research, questions remain about moment-to-moment interactions and strategies that nurture young children’s creative thinking ability. Young children's creative expressions differ from those of adults. The Research Working Definition of Creativity (RWDC), developed through an ethnographic case-study, offers a framework that extends the definition of creativity as both a thinking and feeling process, while serving as a naturalistic observation tool. This research found creative characteristics amongst young children in a school embracing New Pedagogies for Deep Learning, which fostered responsive interactions, emotional and instructional support, and classroom organisation.
