The dataset covers the period from the 45th year of Meiji to the 1st year of Taisho, with the average monthly wages calculated based on four surveys conducted annually in March, June, September, and December at key locations across the nation. However, for workers employed seasonally, such as those in breweries, the average is calculated during their respective seasons. Additionally, the average is obtained by mixing wages in kind with cash wages. To facilitate comparison with other regions, the annual salary is converted to monthly or daily wages, and vice versa.
