Pectin, a complex naturally occurring plant polysaccharide, is one of dietary fibers that remarkably used as functional food additives with modulatory effects on gut health. Emerging evidences demonstrate that pectin has huge potential to modulate gut microbiota composition. However, there is little synthetically knowledge about how pectin regulates microbial ecosystem. Our study investigated the effect of pectin-eriched diet on fecal metagenome in pigs.
