Whole-genome sequencing of S. t. tatarica

This project focuses on the whole-genome sequencing and characterization of genetic diversity in Saiga tatarica tatarica, a keystone species of the Central Asian steppe ecosystem. The primary goal is to explore genome-wide patterns of variation among individuals to better understand the genetic structure, population history, and adaptive potential of this species.The obtained genome sequences will serve as an important reference for future studies on saiga evolution, demographic reconstruction, and the identification of functionally significant variants. These data also contribute to the global efforts in biodiversity genomics, supporting long-term monitoring of genetic diversity and the development of evidence-based conservation strategies.
