DENTAL PULP TISSUE OF DECIDUOUS TEETH: CELLULAR ORGANIZATION AND FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS

The dental pulp of deciduous teeth is a highly specialized connective tissue that plays a central role in tooth vitality, defense, and reparative processes. Compared with permanent teeth, deciduous dental pulp demonstrates higher cellular density, increased vascularity, and enhanced metabolic activity. This article reviews the cellular composition, structural organization, and functional properties of deciduous dental pulp based on contemporary histological and pediatric dental literature.
