In November 2018, 100 replicate mutation accumulation (MA) lines were initiated at the University of Florida (Gainesville, FL, USA) from a highly homozygous progenitor from each of four strains of C. elegans: CB4856 (MA lines C000-C099), MY6 (MA lines M100-M199), JU360 (MA lines J300-J399) and EG8072 (MA lines E400-E499; EG8072 is an N2 strain with stably integrated GFP and RFP reporters). Strain metadata are available in Wormbase or CaeNDR. MA lines were propagated by transferring a single immature hermaphrodite at 4-day intervals under standard laboratory conditions (20 degree C, NGM agar plates, fed on E. coli OP50) for 300 transfers (around 300 generations). Progenitors are referred to by their Wormbase strain ID followed by _G0, e.g., CB4856_G0. For each strain, five replicate large population (N>1) control lines were propagated by transferring several thousand mixed-stage worms in parallel with the MA lines. These lines are designated by the same one-letter abbreviation as the MA lines (C, M, E, and J) followed by the replicate number and the suffix _N>1, e.g., C1_N>1, C2_N>1, etc.).
