Understanding the Management of Agitation During Post-Traumatic Amnesia After Traumatic Brain Injury

Agitation in the early period after traumatic brain injury (TBI) represents a significant barrier to effective care and rehabilitation, poses a risk to safety, and can increase the care burden for clinicians and families. This thesis provides novel insights that can inform the clinical management of post-TBI agitation, including the value of consistent agitation measurement, the implementation of non-pharmacological interventions, and education and training to guide clinicians and families caring for agitated patients in early TBI recovery.
