The reactions of [RuCl2(CHPh)(PCy3)2] or [RuHCl(η-H2)(PCy3)2] with the N-heterocyclic silylene :Si(NtBuCH)2 (ISitBu) affords the coordinatively unsaturated silylene complex [RuHCl(ISitBu)(PCy3)2]. For comparative purposes, the corresponding complex [RuHCl(IiPr)(PCy3)2] (IiPr = :C(NiPrCH)2) was obtained from [RuHCl(η-H2)(PCy3)2] and IiPr.
