1. To investigate antibiotic treatment's effect on intestinal microbiota, we administered broad-spectrum antibiotics via drinking water to wild-type mice. Our findings indicate that broad-spectrum antibiotic treatment leads to the indiscriminate elimination of commensal bacteria within the gut environment.2. Monitoring E. fergusonii colonization levels revealed that clindamycin administration maintained stable gut colonization by E. fergusonii after 14 days. E. fergusonii colonization alters the gut microbiome profile, then faecal microbiota transplantation improves gut dysbiosis induced by previous intestinal colonization of E. fergusonii.
