Agricultural Trade and Exchange Rate Dataset for India (FY 1990–91 to FY 2024–25)

The dataset titled “Agricultural Trade and Exchange Rate Dataset for India (FY 1990–91 to FY 2024–25)” provides a consolidated compilation of agricultural trade statistics and exchange rate information for India across more than three decades of financial year observations. The dataset integrates agricultural export and import values with total trade indicators and corresponding exchange rate data in order to support empirical analysis of agricultural trade dynamics. The dataset is constructed by combining three primary components. The first component contains annual agricultural export and import statistics measured in Indian Rupees. The second component contains monthly total export and import values measured in USD billion. The third component contains monthly exchange rate observations representing the value of the Indian Rupee relative to the United States Dollar. These data sources are integrated to construct a consistent financial year dataset suitable for quantitative analysis. Monthly trade observations are converted into domestic currency values using the corresponding monthly exchange rate values and subsequently aggregated to obtain financial year trade totals. The resulting dataset contains agricultural export values, agricultural import values, total export and import indicators, and exchange rate signals that can be used for economic analysis and machine learning based forecasting studies. The compiled dataset covers the period from financial year 1990–91 to 2024–25 and provides continuous observations for analysing long term patterns in agricultural trade and exchange rate behaviour. The dataset is made available through an open access repository to support transparency, reproducibility, and further research in agricultural trade forecasting and explainable machine learning applications.
