Radiation dermatitis is a side effect in cancer radiotherapy, where ionizing radiation is delivered to eradicate cancer. Normal tissue such as the skin is also damaged by this treatment. We report here the gene expression change in a rat footpad model of this disease. Rat footpad skin was irradiated at Day 1, Day 2, Day 4, Day 5 at 10Gy X 4 to mimic the fractioned delivery scheme used in clinic. The irradiation was performed using a Varian Clinac 23ex linear accelerator. Nine MeV electron beam was delivered at a dose rate of 500 cGy/min. Footpad skin from the hindlimb was collected at Day 0, Day 3, Day 6, Day 9, and total RNAs were extracted. After quality check, RNAs were processed for NGS in BGI, Shengzhen, China. The sequencing results were annotated according to a NCBI database. Raw data were not saved and are therefore not available for these records.
