资源简介:

This dataset provides a structured reference for 15 distinct coffee brewing methods, documenting their mechanical parameters, extraction characteristics, and practical attributes. Each method is classified by category (drip, immersion, pressure, decoction, vacuum, hybrid), and characterized by grind size, water temperature range, brew time window, coffee-to-water ratio, applied pressure (where relevant), filter type, typical yield volume, and total dissolved solids (TDS) range. Extraction yield percentages are included for each method, reflecting the proportion of soluble coffee compounds transferred to the brew. The Specialty Coffee Association recommends an extraction yield of 18-22% as the optimal range for balanced flavor; the dataset shows how different methods achieve this target through varying combinations of contact time, temperature, turbulence, and particle size. For example, espresso achieves high TDS (8-12%) through pressure-driven percolation in under 35 seconds, while cold brew relies on extended immersion (12-24 hours) at low temperatures to reach modest TDS (1.0-1.5%) with characteristically low acidity. Practical metadata is also captured: estimated caffeine content per serving, ease-of-use ratings (1-5 scale), portability assessment, cleanup time, year of invention, and country of origin. This supports comparative analysis of brewing method suitability for different use contexts (home, travel, competition, commercial). The data is drawn from published SCA brewing standards, manufacturer specifications, and controlled extraction measurements. It is maintained as part of the CoffeeTrove brewing knowledge base.
