Profiles of stratospheric ozone at Macquarie Island

These data are obtained from weekly ozone sonde flights which record the pressure (hPa) temperature (deg Celcius), humidity (relative %) and ozone partial pressure (milli Pa) vertically as the balloon ascends about every 3 seconds. The flights are from the surface and generally reach 10hPa. The data are stored as space delimited ascii files with text headers describing the parameters.

The World Ozone and Ultraviolet Radiation Data Centre contains ozone and ultraviolet radiation measurements from around the globe. Some regions have large historical datasets - for example the Macquarie Island dataset dates back to 1957.

All the data in the WOUDC system are sorted by station number. Each station is given a unique number to identify it. For example, Macquarie Island is station 29. To find out the identifying number of a particular station, select the metadata link on the WOUDC website and then the region that you are interested in. All available stations and their numbers for that region will then be displayed.
