Acoustic cavitation and yeast extract supplementation improved food waste conversion into lactic acid by enhancing solubilization and microbial activity. While their combination showed only a slight additional benefit, all treatments suppressed by-product formation and favored lactic acid production. These results highlight an effective strategy for selective bioconversion of food waste.
