This database compiles data and figures on the evolution of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Latin America for the period 2000-2024. Data includes: (1) general regional statistics on prevalence, incidence and mortality; (2) number of people living with HIV by country (Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay); (3) new annual cases by country; (4) AIDS-related deaths by country; (5) antiretroviral treatment (ART) coverage by country; and (6) key milestones in the regional HIV response. Data compiled from official PAHO/PAHO and UNAIDS/ONUSIDA sources, collected via Perplexity AI in February 2026.
