Likelihood analyses testing Hypotheses 1 and 2 for Experiments 1 and 2 (LL refers to the log-likelihood estimate). These analyses compared the 2D frequency distribution of each individual on a 5x5 matrix with the expected result E(R) from Hypotheses 1 and 2 on the same matrix (see details in the text). The participants are numbered according to their mean release angle in Experiment 1 and mean release velocity in Experiment 2 to facilitate visual comparison with their data shown in Figures 4B and 5B, respectively.
