Genomic analysis of third-generation cephalosporin-resistant Escherichia coli from captive wild mammals in Tunisia

This project includes whole-genome sequencing data for four third-generation cephalosporin-resistant Escherichia coli isolates recovered from captive wild mammals (lama, lion, hyena and tiger) in a private wildlife farm in north-eastern Tunisia. Draft genomes and associated metadata are used to characterize the resistome, virulome, plasmid content and phylogenetic background of these multidrug-resistant strains and to assess their potential as human pathogens.
