The effect of a methionine supplemented diet after irradiation

This study was on 8 week old CBA/CaJ mice that were either fed a methionine adequate diet or a supplemented methionine diet (3X more than adequate). After a week maintained on the respective diets, we administered local upper abdominal x-ray irradiation. Seven days later, we collected fecal and tissue samples to evaluate gastrointestinal injury and microbiome changes. The fecal samples were submitted for the microbiome analysis.
