Variability Census of Legacy Catalogs: New Pulsating Variables and Eclipsing Binaries
收藏资源简介:
I am conducting a comprehensive variability census of the four legacy catalogs: BD, HD, SAO, and PPM, which has uncovered a substantial number of new variable stars. This systematic examination of cataloged stars is part of a dedicated survey project aimed at identifying bright A-F type variable stars using publicly available high-precision space photometry from TESS and Gaia. This report summarizes the findings from the third phase, which completed a scan of 468862 objects within the legacy catalogs. To date, I have identified over 9690 new δ Scuti stars, more than 7680 new γ Doradus stars, approximately 2600 new Maia variables, over 1030 new eclipsing binary systems (including several dozens with pulsating components), and nearly 9800 rotational variables, among other types. The full list of newly identified variable stars from the four legacy catalogs is presented in machine-readable format in the attached file `PPM_AFstars_NewVar_R3.csv', and an atlas of selected exemplary light curves is given in the PDF file.
