2,4-disubstituted pyridine derivatives (11 and 15) revealed significant bactericidal activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis in vitro, as well as, M. tuberculosis deposited within human macrophages, and against biofilm-forming tubercle bacilli. In this project, we have selected M. tuberculosis mutants resistant to the increased concentrations of the tested compounds and identified mutations accumulated in their genomes.
