Electron Diffraction Data and Ptychographic Reconstructions Using a 20 keV Electron Beam on Supported Gold Nanoparticles

The data set contains scanning transmission electron diffraction data and ptychographic reconstructions from experiments performed with a 20 keV electron beam on gold particles on thin amorphous carbon and few-layer MoS2 supports. The ptychographic reconstructions present sub-Ångström information, as determined from Fourier ring correlation. Intermediate stage outputs from the ptychographic algorithms are also provided, along with parameters for the reconstruction recipes in tabulated form. To supplement the experimental results, simulated diffraction data and their related reconstructions are provided. The simulated data use conditions similar to the experimental data, and are provided for a synthetic abstract single-slice test object and a multi-slice simulated hexagonal-frustum-shaped gold islands on 5-layer MoS2. The model of the gold island on MoS2 is tilted to approximately match the experimental conditions, though has no over- or under-lying amorphous material present, which is likely to be present in the experimental data as described in the publication related to this dataset.
