The Influence of Social Media Addiction, Fear of Missing Out, and Self-Efficacy on Academic Stress: A Structural Equation Modelling Approach

This dataset contains survey responses from 500 university students aged 18-25 years examining the relationships between social media addiction, fear of missing out (FoMO), self-efficacy, and academic stress. Participants completed validated psychological instruments including the Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (BSMAS; 6 items), Fear of Missing Out Scale (FoMOS; 10 items), General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE; 10 items), and an adapted Academic Stress Scale (12 items), along with demographic information and daily social media usage data. The dataset supports structural equation modeling analyses investigating direct and indirect pathways between these constructs, including the mediating role of FoMO in the relationship between social media addiction and academic stress.
