资源简介:
Soil biological samples were collected from a range of salty hollows to determine if some life forms had adapted to this environment because biological adaptation in Antarctica is such that virtually all niches are occupied. If this is not the case, then the conditions limiting biological life (i.e. salinity) may be defined by traverse sampling across these salty hollows. Several sites were sampled in Alatna Valley, Towle Valley and in the glacial tills between the Howchin and Walcott Glaciers in Walcott Bay.
