<b>Photolytic oxidation of NH4Cl</b>

We report a new mechanism of Cl2 generation through the photo-oxidation of ammonium chloride particles under atmospherically relevant conditions, which constitutes a nonnegligible source of Cl2 in the continental atmosphere.
