Patricia Bay Transmissometer Deployed 2008-02-28

The SeaTech Transmissometer 0475 was deployed on 2008-02-28 at Patricia Bay. Patricia Bay is located in the Saanich Inlet, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. This device is a Transmissometer. Transmissometers measure the transmission of light through seawater. Parallel rays of light in a spectral band are emitted from a source towards a light detector a set distance away. The fraction of light received is converted into a beam attenuation coefficient. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 3.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.
