Legal mobilization by public defenders: the case of occupations in downtown Vitória

Abstract In the case of occupations in downtown Vitória, the public defenders of Nudam and DRDH/ES, exercised a performance considered non-traditional, interacting with different actors and promoting the legal mobilization both inside and outside the judicial spheres. In order to understand how this performance took place, the institutional elements that made it possible are analyzed, as well as the agency of the defenders in the specific case.
