资源简介:

Arthropod Assemblages in Desert Ecosystems of Alula County, Saudi Arabia Ruan van Mazijk*, Steven McGregor, Robbert Duker, William Liversage, Carly Butynski, Maurice Schutgens, Miren Schleicher, Max D. Graham, Shauna K. Rees, Abdelsamad Aldabaa, Ahmed H. Mohamed, Sami D. Almalki, Benjamin P. Y.-H. Lee * Corresponding author (email: ruanvmazijk@gmail.com) Data and R script for Nature Note submitted to Ecology and Evolution File: ‘Van Mazijk et al._Ecology and Evolution_raw data.csv’ • Raw counts of numbers of individuals, taxonomic identifications and functional groupings for all morphospecies of arthropod collected from pitfall traps in this project. • Each row in this spreadsheet corresponds to one pitfall trap's specimens for a given morphospecies, such that there are multiple rows per pitfall trap. Column names and descriptions • Site: Unique reference for each sampling plot for this arthropod study • Sample_code: Unique reference for each pitfall trap at a given sampling plot • Photo_file_name: Unique reference for each micrograph taken of arthropod specimens • Collection_date: Date of specimen collection • Latitude_N: Geographic coordinates (latitude in decimal degrees) • Longitude_E: Geographic coordinates (longitude in decimal degrees) • Habitat_type: Habitat where sample was collected (sensu Valorhiz & IUCN, 2024) • Nature_reserve: AlUla protected area where sample was collected • Class: Taxonomic class of identified specimens • Order: Taxonomic order of identified specimens • Family: Taxonomic family or superfamily of identified specimens • Functional type: Functional type of specimens • N_individuals: Number of individuals of that morphospecies in a given pitfall trap • Morphospecies: Morphospecies classification • Description: Additional descriptive details for morphospecies (by Paul Janse van Rensburg) • Collected_by: Names of sample collectors File: 'Van Mazijk et al._Ecology and Evolution_analyses and figures.R' • R script to perform analyses and generate figures for manuscript. See comments within. Sub-folder: Arthropod micrographs • This sub-folder contains all micrograph imagery files for arthropod specimens collected from pitfall traps. • Micrographs are arranged in the following folder structure: > [Taxonomic Class] (e.g. ‘Insecta’) > [Taxonomic Order] (e.g. ‘Hymenoptera’) > [Taxonomic Family] (if applicable) (e.g. ‘Formicidae’) > [Morphospecies] (e.g. ‘Formicidae MS 1’) > [Micrograph JPEGS] (e.g. ‘ATW_8_2_a_Insecta_Hymenoptera_Formicidae_n=1.jpeg’) • Micrograph file names contain the following information, separated by underscores: ‘[Habitat type]_[Site no.]_[Pitfall trap no.]_[Micrograph no.]_[Class]_[Order]_[Family (if applicable)]_[No. individuals of a given morphospecies in view].jpeg’
