This dataset provides detailed data on judicial constraints on the executive in select African countries for 2021, including Benin, Botswana, Cape Verde, Ethiopia, Kenya, and others. Based on expert assessments and an index, it combines information on the extent to which the executive respects the constitution and complies with the rulings of independent courts, ranging from 0 to 1 (most constrained). The dataset contains tabular records divided into a training set (1,180 rows) and a test set (295 rows), with 7 columns (4 numeric, 3 categorical). The data was published by The Charter Project and curated into an ML-ready format by Electric Sheep Africa.
