Candidate models of lynx third-order habitat selection in Norway during the lynx-hunting season, and all the year round.

All models were of the form , where the probability of selecting the actual use during a given season is modelled as a function of a set of environmental factors measured for the lifetime home range composition () and seasonal use (): the Hier model included all interaction terms between both scales, the Env model included only the third-order selection measurements, the Sex model included an effect of sex in interaction with third-order selection measurements, and the Null model only estimated the intercept. The model selection followed an information-theoretic approach based on the number of parameters (K), maximum log-likelihood (LL), modified Akaike information criteria (), relative values (), and weight () of each model.
