Thaumarchaeota diversity was determined using 16S rRNA and ammonia monooxygenase (amoA) genes from samples collected from a floating dock at Marsh Landing, Sapelo Island, Georgia, USA in August of 2011, 2012, and 2013. These samples are coordinated with others during the annual Thaumarchaeota bloom in this region (Hollibaugh et al., 2011, ISME J; Gifford et al., 2011, ISME J; Hollibaugh et al., 2014, ISME J). Samples were sequenced alongside those collected in the Southern Ocean published as Tolar et al., 2016, ISME Journal.
