Sodium Bicarbonate Buffer Prevents High Grain Induced SARA in Dairy Goats via Restoring the Rumen microbiota

In this study, we investigated the efficacy of sodium bicarbonate buffer (CBM) in treating subacute ruminal acidosis (SARA) in dairy goats. The SARA group exhibited deteriorated clinical symptoms, elevated systemic inflammation, and disrupted rumen microbiota compared to the control group. CBM treatment improved clinical outcomes and host systemic inflammatory responses, as well as improved the composition of rumen microbiota. Our findings suggest that regulating the rumen microbiota via CBM is an effective approach for preventing SARA in dairy goats.
