Diet analysis of adult female Calanus sinicus. gut metagenome

Investing prey organisms of copepods is an important to understand marine food webs; however, it is difficult to obtain high taxonomic resolutions from damaged gut contents by morphological classification. In this study, a diet analysis using molecular technique was performed for adult female of Calanus sinicus; a key copepod species in the coastal side of the subtropical western North Pacific. Calanus sinicus were collected in Tosa Bay off Japan in February in 2015, and metagenetic approach of 18S V9 was applied to reveal detailed food sources of C. sinicus.
