This dataset represents research focused on the evaluation of 254 diverse sorghum genotypes for nitrogen-use efficiency (NUE). Genomic DNA was extracted from the 4–6 leaf stage of 12-day-old seedlings using a modified cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) protocol. Genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) was performed using the ApeKI restriction enzyme for genome complexity reduction. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were identified through the TASSEL v5.2 GBS pipeline, aligned against the sorghum reference genome assembly v3. The final dataset comprised 399,848 high-quality SNPs generated from 254 accessions after standard quality filtering to remove low-quality and highly missing markers.
