Cell contour and morphology of 3D-VirtualCM

Single-layer spatial transcriptomics cannot capture complete adult cardiomyocyte transcriptomic profiles because of their large size and multinucleation. 3D-VirtualCM provides a new approach to recover intact cardiomyocyte transcriptomes by reconstructing cardiomyocyte contours via membrane-based segmentation and integrating trajectories along the z-axis. The dataset includes cardiomyocyte contour information from three independent gold-standard datasets, as well as a 10-layer whole-heart transverse section dataset comprising tiled WGA-stained images and regions of interest (ROIs) delineated using a human-in-the-loop strategy.
